When it comes to East Coast bands… well, musical groups of any kind really – making it to a milestone of 30 years together is more often than not – a rarity, but that’s exactly what the multi-award winning Celtic crew Rawlins Cross have achieved.
NL brothers Dave and Geoff Panting together with Nova Scotia sons Ian McKinnon and Brian Bourne, plus PEI’s Joey Kitson and Ontario-based Howie Southwood complete the signature sound you here in grand style on stage and most certainly on their latest release their 10th studio recording FLYING COLOURS.
Indeed the boys are back at it and marking 3 decades of music-making with marvellous maritime tour. In fact, it was just a few days before the start that I sat down for a cup of tea and a chat with founding member Ian McKinnon to talk about it all – from the early days, to how they’ve managed to make it this far, from the small clubs to worldwide stages, and the tried and true fans who flock to their shows… oh we’ve got some ground to cover and then some plus we’ll play as many of their great tunes as we can squeeze into the hour – so without further ado – here’s my conversation with the one and only Ian McKinnon.
You can find Ian McKinnon online on Facebook Instagram and on Twitter too
