If you love amazing food, east coast scenery, cool pics & tips on where to grab the best ice cream or coffee, and #frenchtons (a cross between a French Bulldog and a Boston Terrier) then you’re going to love following Chef Nathan Guggenheimer on Instagram as much as we do.
As the Culinary Director for Oak Island Resort and Conference Centre @oakisland4season in Western Shore, Nova Scotia – you can look forward to seeing the yummiest of dishes presented with the most marvelous backdrop of those blue Atlantic waters. Chef Nathan is also the Owner & Ringleader of Good Times at the Old Black Forest Restaurant @oldblackforest in Lunenburg, NS and with that you’ll be treated to a healthy heaping of hospitality, traditional German dishes and a tremendous amount of happy high-jinks, language lessons plus some incredibly tasty contests to boot. Oh and then there’s Eggs @a.dog.named.eggs – his sweet little dog who steals the show to be sure of it!
Oh, he may have been born in the west, but with each passing day, every nature hike, every trip to the beach, every culinary adventure – we can glean from his posts and stories – Chef Nathan is falling more and more in love with life here on Canada’s East Coast – a true kindred spirit and definitely fun to follow.

In addition to being Culinary Director @oakisland4season a Culinary Partner @grassroots_restaurant and owner @theoldblackforest he’s a @topchefcanada survivor too.
Chef Googs as he’s known, has traveled the world developing his culinary skills, working under Michelin-starred powerhouse chefs like Phil Howard and Daniel Boulud. He’s opened numerous restaurants including the award-winning Ayden Kitchen & Bar in Saskatoon – building them from the ground up receiving accolades and awards from various magazines including “Dish Of The Year” by Enroute Magazine 2018.
He loves exceeding expectations with hard work, fresh ideas, innovation and customer satisfaction. He’s the bees knees!
