A soon to be “fall tradition” is being held for the first time this year. From Friday, October 9th through Sunday, October 18th folks from all over PEI – and the Atlantic Bubble too – are invited to Charlottetown to take in the all-new Scarecrows in the City Festival.

The downtown core of Prince Edward Island’s seaside city will be filled with these signs of the seasons. Set against the backdrop of Charlottetown’s historic buildings and fall foilage – “hundreds of scarecrow installations will line the streets, gather on street corners, pop up in shop windows, and surprise you in other unexpected ways.”

The Discover Charlottetown team has really created an awesomely autumnal celebration which includes – self-guided scarecrow tours, haunted ghost walks, live music, wine tastings, costumed stiltwalkers, harvest dinners, psychic readings, and so much more!

The Mahone Bay Scarecrow Festival and Antique Fair

While we’re on the subject of Scarecrows – we just wanted to say how sad we were that one of our favourite fall festivals – the Mahone Bay Scarecrow Festival – was cancelled this year.

There’s no denying the festival’s popularity – with over 250 life-sized scarecrows thousands of folks flock to the charming seaside town, but considering the safety of visitors – the Scare Crew called for the postponement back in April.

We’ll look forward to celebrating the Mahone Bay Scarecrow Festival & Antique Fair next September 25, 26 & 27, 2021
