We’re huge fans of Academy Award Winner Regina King so naturally, we were over the moon when we heard she had cast Nova Scotia’s Eli Goree in ONE NIGHT IN MIAMI. The film marks King’s first time directing a feature film and we’re here to tell you is a dynamic debut – and as for Goree’s turn as The Champ – it’s a knockout!

Based on Kemp Powers’ stage play of the same name, ONE NIGHT IN MIAMI is a fictional account of one phenomenal night during which boxing legend Muhammad Ali (Eli Goree), music legend Sam Cooke (Leslie Odom Jr.), NFL legend Jim Brown (Aldis Hodge) and legendary activist Malcolm X (Kingsley Ben-Adir), gather to discuss their respective roles in the civil rights movement and et al. – it’s truly amazing stuff!

The film made its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival last September with a limited theatrical release by Amazon Studios, starting on Christmas Day, but now we’re pleased to say you can enjoy ONE NIGHT IN MIAMI in the comfort of your own home via Prime Video.

There’s already been plenty of Oscar buzz around the film having already scored 14 trophies since it’s September premiere, and Goree’s portrayal of Cassius Clay has been garnering a ton of glowing reviews from the industry critics too.

Goree is especially surprising in his buoyancy. Goree’s acting ability in his scenes is just as fluid as his footwork in the ring. Even when Goree is literally up against the ropes, he gleams with a refreshing joyousness.” Tyler Bey Hollywood Insider

And that’s just one of the stellar raves for the man. We’ll keep our fingers crossed and look forward to the next stellar performance by this extraordinary East Coast actor.
